007 || Of Leather Pants and Bare Chests

Would anyone happen to know where my shirt disappeared off to? I mean, the necklace and leather pants are quite nice, but it does tend to get a bit chilly without a shirt on.

And yes, I did try putting on other shirts and jackets, but they all vanish within seconds of my pulling them on! I really do hope they return soon... Having to shop for a new wardrobe wasn't in my plans.

That was implied by offering you tea, yes.

Doesn't that defeat the purpose of being a stalker then?

[A chuckle.]

Tea would indeed be appreciated, thank you.

[sighs, and heads into the kitchen to start preparing the tea]

[sighs again, because really, there is no explaining her sometimes]

It's warmer in the kitchen, or if you want a blanket, you can try the one on the couch. I haven't been able to wear a coat outside, but I can use that in here.

[He wraps the blanket around him before padding into the kitchen, his arms sliding around her waist to share the warmth as he rests his chin on her shoulder.]

Mm... Warmer indeed~

[She hadn't been expecting that, so there was the barest stiffening of her body before she settled down. She continued to prepare the tea, doing her best to ignore his bare chest against her back and his breath against her ear.]

Couldn't just pick one suggestion, hm?

[Good luck with that, especially as his fingers are now absently stroking along her hips as he noses into that unfamiliar blonde hair.]

Both options were equally enticing, and you didn't say I could only pick one.

No, I guess I didn't.

[She's just going to...let him, while she decides whether she wants to encourage him or discourage him.]

[Adds honey to her own tea, since she's not in the mood for anything bitter.]

With any luck, it'll help keep you from getting sick.

[He gives her time to decide, one hand coming up to play with her hair, gently twining it around a finger.]

Would Bastet-san take care of me if I got sick?

Well, I'm not sure anyone else could put up with you.

[He's being patient--he's been patient. And while she's grateful, she won't let gratitude push her faster and farther than she's ready to go. They've come far enough that she knows it's a matter of when they take the next step, not if.]

[But part of her still shies away from the idea of letting someone that close again, so she hopes he can be patient a little longer. Both mugs of tea are prepared, but she doesn't pick them up, instead turning in his arms and looking up at him, leaning back against the counter and putting the barest amount of space between them.]

So it looks like you're stuck with me.

[She lays a hand on top of his where it still rests on her hip, hoping he understands she's not saying 'no'--she's just saying saying 'not yet.']

[Smiling gently, he turns his hand over and catches hers in his, raising it up to press a light kiss to the back of it before he reaches around to pick up the tea, handing her mug to her.]

I can't see a downside.

[She returns his smile, squeezing his fingers before she accepts her tea. And of course, he understands perfectly, without her having to say a word.]

Of course not, you'd get a private nurse. And you'd actually have an excuse to be lazy for once.

Lazy?

[He took a sip of his tea, hurt gray eyes looking at her from over the brim.]

I'm hurt that you think that of me.

[And amused golden eyes look right back at him]

Somehow I doubt it.

Doubt and distrust...

[Sniffling and addressing the tea now.]

Oh to be lonely and misunderstood in this world...

It must be horrible.

[pause]

How kind of you to think of those less fortunate than you.

[He grinned up at her, all sadness disappearing in the blink of an eye.]

I am known for my kindness, aren't I~?

[snickers]

Maybe to those who don't know any better.

[His jaw falls open.]

Are you saying that I'm not kind?

[Reaches up to tug at the lock of hair between his eyes]

I'm saying it's not your defining trait, once someone gets to know you.

[He grinned.]

Then what is my defining trait?

[sips her tea]

[looks innocent]

[Watches from over brim of mug.]

[keeps drinking]

[wow this is tasty]

[She's going to run out sometime.

Oh yeah...]

So why does Genius want me to ask you about him before we get ice cream together?
