crimsonmischief | 007 || Of Leather Pants and Bare Chests

Would anyone happen to know where my shirt disappeared off to? I mean, the necklace and leather pants are quite nice, but it does tend to get a bit chilly without a shirt on.

And yes, I did try putting on other shirts and jackets, but they all vanish within seconds of my pulling them on! I really do hope they return soon... Having to shop for a new wardrobe wasn't in my plans.

Of course not, you'd get a private nurse. And you'd actually have an excuse to be lazy for once.

So why does Genius want me to ask you about him before we get ice cream together?

[Tugs at his blanket]

Let's go sit on the couch. It's a bit of a long story.

[His head tilts curiously, but he follows after her obediently, settling onto the couch first before opening his arms to her in a silent question.]

[With just the barest hesitation, she sets her mug on the table, then sits, settling back against him]

[And his arms come around her, settling around her waist comfortably before he reaches over and hands her her cup.]

So, sometimes the elevator takes people to the fourth floor. No one knows how, and as far as I know, no one has ever been able to get there on purpose. Generally, if you get there by yourself, you get taken to a replica of someplace familiar to you. If you go in a group, you see someone's memory--maybe yours, maybe a companion's.

Toushi was along when one of Genius' memories were shown. Apparently, Genius had a job where he erased people's memories.

[sighs, tapping her fingers against the mug]

Toushi didn't take it well, and punched him in the face. They feuded for a while after that, and while I can't say one side acted better than the other, I will say that Genius' friends ganged up to yell at Toushi whenever they saw the chance. And he couldn't understand how they could be mad at him for punching Genius, when in his mind, Genius' actions had been so much worse...so of course that just made him more defensive.

But they were worried that Genius would be in danger if people found out what he used to do...or if the powers that be concluded that he could reverse everyone's memory loss.

Well, the whole situation left a lot of bad blood between the two, as well as between Toushi and Genius' friends. And you've seen how paranoid Genius can be, so I guess he figured you'd find out about him sooner or later and decide not to talk to him anymore.

[she shrugs]
